He was the one member of Joanie Loves Bocce that placed first in the 3rd Annual Thursday Night Chili Cookoff at Crane Park two weeks ago.

Cornbread winners

Congrats to Caroline and Russell, non-Joanie winnners as well.

Chili Winners!

How’re we playing?
Well we’re playing Casino Cowboys this Thursday in a makeup game.
Playoffs are this weekend.
We may be a wild card, may not.
Guess that’s what they mean by wild card.

Caffo, if we could get your exquisite Korn Bread recipe, we’ll let you play closest to the beer for now and for ever.

  1. Ingredients:

    1 Cup Butter, Melted
    1 Cup Granulated Sugar
    4 Eggs
1 (15 oz) Can Cream Style Corn
1/2 (4 oz) Can Chopped Green Chili Peppers, Drained
1/2 Cup Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
    1/2 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
    1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
    1 Cup Yellow Cornmeal
    4 Teaspoons Baking Powder
    1/4 Teaspoon Salt

Preheat Oven to 300 Degrees F

    Wet Team:
    Beat Together Butter & Sugar
Beat in Eggs, 1 at a time
Blend in Cream Corn, Chiles and Cheese

    Dry Team:
Mix Flour, Cornmeal, Baking Powder & Salt

Add Dry Team to Wet Team

Says to bake for 1 Hour, but that’s in a 9/13-inch baking dish or 12″ skillet.
For Muffins, will require experimentation. 1 Hour actually works great for muffins!!!
DO NOT DEEP FRY DOUGH/BATTER!!! IT DOESN’T WORK!!!!
